Writer: AdminAdmin

The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe and his council of chiefs, yesterday banished one Prophet Oni Olakanye of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Palace of Mercy, from the town over the death of a woman who sought spiritual help from him.

The CAC prophet was said to have carried out a “spiritual cleansing” on the woman, simply identified as Mrs. Olawale.

Recall that Olokuta two months ago, administered a liquid substance in the deceased private part which led to injury during a deliverance session.

The case was reported to the Ewi’s palace by her relatives after her health deteriorated. She later died.

The Ewi-in-Council, giving its verdict, banished the cleric from Ado-Ekiti forthwith.

“He should not be seen in the town and its environs,” the Council of Ewi said.

The palace had handed over the prophet to the police for investigation.

Police spokesman Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the incident.

Adeyemi said the prophet had already been charged to court.

“The charge would be amended following the reported death of the woman,” he said.
