Policeman who killed two women in Edo dismissed from service

A police corporal, Ali Christopher, who accidentally killed two nursing mothers at a funeral in Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, has been dismissed from active service by the police.

Ali was dismissed by the state police command after he was found culpable in an orderly room trial.

The state command’s image maker, Stephen Onwochei, in a chat with newsmen, said two police officers were apprehended in connection with the case but after thorough investigations, Ali was found wanting.

“That person has been tried in orderly room. He is a corporal and as I speak to you, he has been dismissed.

“Hopefully by this week, he will appear in court. Police officers should be guided by Force Order 237 which spells out the use of arms by officers.”

DAILY POST recalls that two nursing mothers were killed by a stray bullet from Christopher’s gun on the June 27 at the Ivhiokhile quarters in Fugar.
