The deposed Deji of Akure, Prince Adepoju Adesina was today whisked away by men of Ondo State Police Command for allegedly disrupting the peace of the community.
Adesina, who had been away from Akure, the Ondo State Capital for five years was said to have arrived his home town from the United Kingdom on Monday night in order for him to be able to attend his court case that came up today at the State High Court in Akure.
The deposed monarch is challenging his removal at the state High and Appeal courts.
He was deposed by the state government on June 2010 over an allegation that he brutalized his wife, late Bolanle.
Adesina has since the incident returned to the United Kingdom but always in touch with his lawyers and supporters.
Rumour however filtered in few days ago that he would be in court to attend one of his court cases scheduled for today.
His supporters were said to have mobilized themselves in order to give him a rousing welcome.
At the court session which has been adjourned till December 8, his supporters over-crowded the room.
But, things took another dimension when, Adesina and his supporters took to the street and started dancing from the court room to the deposed Deji father’s house which is very close to Deji of Akure’s Palace, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo.
The jubilation sent a wrong signal to residents of Akure as many believe Adesina had been reinstated.
It took the intervention of the Police, who whisked away Adesina before the mammoth crowd at his father’s house could be controlled.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph only said Adesina was not arrested.
