Police vow to expose abductors of pastors, Army colonel during parade of suspected kidnappers in Kad

Fifteen suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command.

While some of them confessed to be the ones terrorising commuters on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, the others were allegedly responsible for abduction of the three Kaduna pastors and an Army Colonel who was found dead.

The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu, in a chat with newsmen after parading the suspects, said they rescued two kidnap victims, one Engr Mansur Musa and Elijah Afolabi from the deadly kidnappers.

Shehu said the gang included those who kidnapped Engr. Mansur Ahmed along Abuja/ Kaduna express way.

The Commissioner said the police were still investigating the involvement of the suspects in the kidnap of late Colonel Ismail Inusa, who was killed last week along the same road.

He said, “In two to three days, all necessary information regarding the suspects will be revealed as investigation is ongoing.

“The other suspects were arrested by the Anti-Crime Patrol team in Kabala West for threatening some prominent personalities from their village and demanding for ransom.

“Some of the suspects were found in possession of foreign currencies and valuables suspected to have been snatched from their victims,” the CP said.

While urging residents to assist the police with useful information to track down criminals in the state, Shehu reassured members of the public of the police’ readiness to make Kaduna habitable.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects whose name is yet to be known, told newsmen he was among members of the gang that kidnapped a Pastor in Jere, Kaduna state.
