The Nigeria Police Force has set up a six-member team to receive and investigate petitions against operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
Members of the team include the IGP X-Squad, IGP Monitoring Unit, Force Public Complaint Bureau, Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, a non-governmental organisation, the Nigeria Policing Programme led by Prof. Olu Ogunsakin and a civil society coalition, Enough-Is-Enough.
Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, who confirmed the development, urged aggrieved persons with complaints of violation of their rights by SARS personnel to report to the team members for investigation and further actions.
