The Police Service Commission on Friday approved the promotion of 632 senior officers.
A statement announcing the promotion and signed by, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the commission’s Head, Press and Public Relations, said that the elevation took effect from March 12.
The breakdown showed that 460 officers were promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The others were 172 from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.
The statement said the officers were found to have satisfied the commission’s criteria for promotion which included maturity on a rank, absence of pending disciplinary matter, merit and vacancy.
The Chairman of the commission, Mr Mike Okiro, advised the officers to see their promotion as impetus to redouble their effort to serve the nation. (NAN)
