Police Sergeant shoots, injures 2 brothers in Delta brothel

A Police Sergeant attached to a brothel in Udu road in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Sergeant Akpokona Silvanus has allegedly shot and injured two brothers simply identified as Blessing and Aghogho.

The victims are currently receiving treatment at the Royal Clinic in Ovwian, Aladja.

DAILY POST learnt that the two brothers were engaged in a mutual argument at a beer parlour opposite the brothel when a mobile policeman attacked them.

The two brothers in an attempts to ask what their offences were attracted crowd which drew the attention of the Sergeant from the brothel to join in the brutalization before he opened fire on them.

The Police also arrested and allegedly dragged an innocent boy to the its station over the incident.

The incident made the Delta State Chairman of the CDHR, Comrade Prince Kehinde-Taiga and the Divisional Police Officer ,Ovwian/Aladja,CSP Joseph Esegine to approach the private hospital for investigation on the matter but the medical doctor in charge said, there was no indication of bullet wounds in the hands of the police Sergeant.

Provoked by the developmwnt, Taiga vowed that he will ensure the matter is not swept under the carpet.

The Divisional Police Officer,Ovwian/Aladja, CSP Joseph Esegine claimed that the policemen involved in the act were not from his division.

A Police Source, however, disclosed that the two policemen involved in the distard act have been arrested.

The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer,DSP Andrew Aniamaka did not pick up calls when our correspondent called.
