Police reveal those behind IMSU final year female student’s death

The Imo State Police Command has revealed that cultists killed the female final year student of Banking and Finance of the Imo State University, Owerri, Miss Kelechi Ibe.

Kelechi was shot dead at her 23rd birthday party.

The police said her death was related to cultism, adding that the command was closing in on the suspects.

Ibe was expected to graduate in August but was shot dead at Douglas, in Owerri, the state capital last Thursday by gunmen while she was partying with friends on her birthday anniversary.

It was reported that while the party was going on, a gunman pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger leading to her instant death.

The State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike disclosed to Punch that he had instructed the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Police Command to take over the investigation process.

Ezike said, “The killing of the female final year student was cult-related.

“I have therefore instructed the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Command to take over the matter from the State CID.

“This is because the Anti – Cultism Unit possesses the professional wherewithal than the State CID in issues relating to cultism.

“We are closing in on the suspects and we will soon round them up.

“Cultism is destroying our society and our universities.

“Parents and guardians must keep telling their children to denounce cultism.

“As a Command, we are working hard to make sure that issues of cultism and killings are permanently put to rest in Imo State.”
