13-year-old Nkechi Oseh was yesterday rescued by men of the Lagos state police command from her boss’ residence where she was locked for weeks.

The State Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Ag CP Imohimi Edgal, yesterday led his team to her rescue at No. 30 Adeniran Ajao Estate Anthony.

The rescue was on a tip-off to the command that her boss, one Ms Betty Ifeoma, was in the habit of locking her up for weeks anytime she is travelling within or outside the country, leaving her with only two packets of cabin biscuit.

Nkechi who is an orphan and had been subjected to series of domestic attacks said she had been locked up on four different occasions since her uncle brought her from Igboju in Delta state.

“I have been locked up for two weeks, one-week, three-weeks when she travelled to London and since she travelled on Saturday, I have been crying before God helped me today.”

The commissioner of police has promised to get to the root of the case.

Nkechi is currently under the care of the child protection unit of the ministry of youth and social development Lagos state.
