Police rescue kidnapped Naval officer, arrest 4 suspects in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has rescued the kidnapped Naval personnel, Omoniyi D. Kola, and arrested four suspects in connection with the abduction, DAILY POST can report.

The suspects were arrested at Ebada-Elume community, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was learnt that the Divisional Police Officer, “C” Division in Asaba, CSP Anieteh Eyoh and his men stormed the community with a drone, and captured the area.

This led to the arrest of those who aided and abetted the criminal act. But, the kidnap kingpin is still on the run.

Eyoh promptly handed over the arrested suspects to the Sapele Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

DAILY POST learnt that the released Naval personnel is currently receiving medical treatment at the Naval Hospital in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report.

Mustafa said, “The Police combed the area and the suspects were arrested around Sapele area. The Naval Officer is receiving treatment at the Navy Hospital in Effurun. Investigation is still ongoing.”
