The Oyo State Police Command on Monday paraded no fewer than fifteen suspected ritualists, armed robbers and cultists.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu, while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan added that the police also recovered the sum of one hundred and fifty bags of Indian hemp from the suspects.
Olukolu, while speaking also vowed to arrest and prosecute violent politicians and their supporters ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He condemned the loss of lives following violence in Ojoo, Igboora, while promising to clampdown on agents of destabilisation.
Olukolu, who paraded the suspects arrested for money making ritual, armed robbery, cultism, however promised to rid criminals off the state.
He said, “We are, however, not oblivious of the recent violent activities of some miscreants, who in the name of politics and in total defiance of our earlier warning caused violence in places like Ojoo, Igboora and others.
“These political thugs, who have made violence their trademark, have decided to serve as cogs in the wheel of democratic progress in the state. The violence witnessed in the places earlier mentioned resulted in loss of lives and injuries.
“To such violent politicians and their unbriddled supporters, we say enough is enough. We will henceforth clampdown on these agents of destabilization; we will not only arrest them, but also prosecute them.
“The isolated instances of violence notwithstanding, our efforts to clampdown on criminal elements ahead of the general elections in the state have yielded some results”.
