Police parade widow who lures schoolgirls into prostitution during school hours in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Thursday paraded a commercial sex worker, Okolokwo Chinonso, who allegedly recruits young schoolgirls as prostitutes in a hotel in Surulere area of the state during school hours.

Chinonso, a widow, allegedly lures students from different secondary schools to the unnamed hotel located at Ikate area of Surulere.

She gives them clothes to change into and uses them as sex slaves until closing hours.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, briefing newsmen on the arrest, said some of the students, as gathered, went home with between N1, 000 and N2, 000, depending on the number of men they attended to.

The CP added that the amount was just 10 percent of what was paid by their male customers, while the rest was allegedly ‘pocketed’ by their managers, Chinonso inclusive.

The CP, however, noted that investigation was still ongoing to ascertain whether there was connivance between management of the hotel, the schools authorities, the suspect and her fleeing cohorts.

But on her part, the suspect denied the allegation.

Confessing before newsmen, the Ebonyi State-born said, “I do not know anything about the schoolgirls, but I am a hustler (commercial sex worker).

Chinonso said she took to prostitution after her husband died 11 years ago.

She said, “I have four children, but two died before my husband. I lodged at the hotel for a week or two before going home to take care of my children with the proceeds.

“Several girls from Abuja and other parts of the country come there to hustle as well. Police raided the hotel and arrested me but I am not connected with what they alleged.”
