Police parade two females, six others for alleged kidnap, armed robbery in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi state police command on Thursday said it has arrested two female and six male suspects for alleged kidnap and armed robbery.

Parading the suspects at the state police headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Titus Lamorde, through the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP. Loveth Odah said the suspects were arrested at Nsukka in Enugu state.

The suspects include: Miss Loveth Okpara Nnenna, who is 26 and a final year student in Ebonyi State University, Uguru Ikechukwu ‘m’; aged 22 years, Ikpeuecha Chinonso Desmond ‘m’ aged 22 yes, Nnaemeka Nwinya ‘m’ aged 32 yrs and Igwe Ekene ‘m’ aged 28 years.

“A gang of six armed robbers led by Ikpeuecha Chinonso Desmond attacked one Ikwuobe Odeh Samuel at his residence No. 10 Ofor street Abakaliki, kidnapped him and his friend in his Toyota Highlander jeep with Reg. No. MKD 421 TS. Whisked them to nearby bush at Azugwu OnuEbonyi.

“They proceeded with the said Highlander Jeep to trace the second victim one Monday Udoka Okeh ‘m’. The hoodlums equally kidnapped him (Udoka) together with his Honda car with Reg. No. KJA 47 EC, then took him to Azugwu OnuEbonyi and robbed him cash of N200,000. Later took his phone and transfered a sum N5,200,000.00 to their various account numbers.

“Mr Monday Udoka was shot and pushed into the river by the said gang, believing that he is dead while the first victims, Samuel and his friend were released unhurt as the gang celebrates victory over Udoka Oke’s case,” police commissioner stated.

Others paraded are armed robbery suspects that include: One Nwabuike Nnabuike who was arrested at No. 2 Nsugbe street for robing one Ugochi Chukwu ‘f’ of her phone valued at N12,000. Also, one Friday Chibuike a 21 yr old boy was arrested for robing one Igboke Ngozi and her son on gunpoint, a cash of N1200, bank cheque book and other items.

Another gang; one Ifeanyi, Onyeibe and Nweke Joshua, including one of their girlfriend, whose name was yet to be identified at the time of filing this report, were also paraded for unlawful possession of firearm and cultism.

Items recovered from them include: one English berreta pistol, one live cartridge, ten live ammunition, one Volkswagen car with Reg. AKL 25 AU, one long machete and substance suspected to be charm.

Meanwhile, some of the suspects, who spoke to journalists during their parade, confessed to the crime.
