Police parade 50 suspected criminals in Cross River

The Commissioner of Police, CP, in Cross River state, Mohammed Inuwa Hafiz has paraded over fifty (50) suspected criminals arrested in the state.

Parading the suspects on Wednesday in Calabar, Hafiz stated that six locally-made pistols, one dane gun, 38 rounds of live cartridges, two wrist watches, charms, two Sony speakers were recovered from the suspects.

Also paraded were one small Tiger generating set, seven KG Gas cylinder, one DVD player, one LG flat screen TV set, one Qlink standing fan, MP3 player, one Axe motorcycles, seven mobile handsets, two laptops, one sub-machine gun bullet, one dagger, two human skulls and N3, 200.

Out of the fifty suspected criminals paraded, 20 were for armed robbery, one for murder, seven for cultism, two for defilement, one for child abuse, another one for rape, one for admission scam, eight for kidnapping, three for unlawful possession of firearms, two for receiving stolen properties, seven for firearms, two for stealing.

Hafiz said that on June 18th, one Otu Usani male and Deborah Daniel female reported at the State Housing Divisional Police Headquarters Calabar that a vehicle drove close to their compound and dropped two children, Victory Patrick Kuma male 7 and Success Patrick Kuma female 4, who were missing for over month now.

He assured members of the public that the command is ever determined to ruthlessly deal with any miscreant or group of persons who may want to take laws into their hands or dare harass, intimidate and instill fears in the minds of Cross Riverians.

“Nevertheless, we sue for the co-operation, support and understanding of all, in providing useful information that could lead to the arrest of these hoodlums and crime perpetrators,” he stated.
