Police needs N8.7bn to effectively combat insurgency in Nigeria – IGP

eThe Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, Thursday said the sum of N8.7bn was needed to effectively tackle insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.

Arase made the disclosure during an interactive session with members of the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs.

The IGP further disclosed that there is an outstanding N57bn due to the Nigeria police that was appropriated, but yet to be released till date.
