The State Governor further added that a woman believed to be the wife of one of the kidnappers, identified as Augustina was also arrested by the police.

He noted that the police have launched a manhunt for the remaining five to six kidnappers.

Governor Fayose, who stressed that three persons have been apprehended for accommodating the alleged kidnappers, said his administration will soon enact a law empowering the police to arrest landlords of criminals across the state.

He re-echoed his government readiness to reward residents of the State who could provide useful information that will lead to the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers that have been ravaging the State.

Fayose further cautioned residents of Atikankan and Bata areas of the state, a hotspot of criminal activities to report anybody suspected to be involved in crime to the law enforcement agents for appropriate sanction.
