The Gombe State Police Command says it has apprehended 28 persons for allegedly been involved in various criminal offences.
Disclosing this to journalist in Gombe on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, stressed that the suspects were nabbed in different locations in the state after committing the offences.
He stated that four of the suspects were arrested in connection with murder while five others had earlier been arraigned in court.
Atajiri further said the others were social miscreants who had been terrorising residents of the state between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m while snatching their phones, jewelries and other valuables.
“Some of them were engaged in attacking people, stealing their handsets, money, jewelry and other valuables while others were raping young women,” he said.
He added that the suspects were apprehended following intelligence gathering on their hideouts.
He appealed to member of the general public to assist the police with useful information that would help in the arrest of criminals
