Police nab man who prints fake voter’s cards in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command, Wednesday, arrested a local businessman, Remi Adebiyi, who allegedly engaged in illegal printing of voter’s cards.

Adebiyi was trailed by operatives to his office located at governor’s road, College bus stop in the Ikotun area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest to newsmen on Thursday, saying the command received an intelligence report that the printer had been secretly printing fake voter’s cards.

The PPRO said based on the information, the command’s operatives mobilized to the business premises in the early hours of Wednesday and discovered some specimens.

“The suspect has confessed to the crime.

“He said he was contracted by some people to print the fake voter’s cards.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni has directed that the case be discreetly investigated, as effort is on to arrest other suspects connected with the case,” the PPRO stated.
