One Ganiyu Amusa, 22, has been arrested by operatives attached to the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a five-year-old boy in the Alakuko area of the state.

The police arrested Amusa on Sunday in his rented apartment on Hanson Street in Alakuko area of the state after the 5-year-old who resides with his family on Oremeji Street, complained of pain in his anus while his mother, identified as Adenike Ejigbo, bathed him.

Confessing to the mother, the 5-year-old said he was lured to a place by Amusa where he allegedly penetrated his anus.

The mother was said to have raised the alarm, after which the matter was reported at the Alakuko Police Division.

It was learnt that the case was on Monday transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further investigation.

Confirming the incident, the State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Giwa, said the case was undergoing further investigation at the SDCI.

“The police are investigating further at the SDCI,” he said.
