A member of the Rivers state Executive Council and Commissioner for Special Duties in the state, Emeka Onowu has honoured an invitation for questioning at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt.
Onowu was invited following a petition by the Chairman of South South Zone of Arewa Consultative Forum and leader of the Northern Community in Rivers state, Alhaji Musa Saido.
Alhaji Saido in the petition to the Inspector General of Police claimed that the Commissioner, Onowu threatened his life over his stance against the demolition of Ahiamakara market at Ogbunabali in Port Harcourt.
However, at the meeting, Onowu denied threatening Alhaji Saido.
Meanwhile, leader of northerners resident in Port Harcourt, Alhaji Musa Saido, said he will go to court over alleged threat to his life by the Commissioner for Special Duties in Rivers state, Emeka Onowu.
He said the threat on his life came as a result of a wrong perception that he is against the government of the day.
According to Saido, “I was at the State Secretariat one day when the Commissioner for Special Duties saw me and started shouting kill him, kill him, he is against Our government. He was telling his boys that I am one of those trying to bring their government down.
“It was based on that incident that I wrote a petition to the Police because I don’t know what he is capable of doing.
“I am not satisiwith the way police is handling the issue and I have resolved to take it to court.”
