Eight suspects who allegedly belong to a syndicate that specialized in producing counterfeit currency, theft and receiving stolen properties have been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Shina Tairu Olukolu, while parading them before Newsmen, said the suspects were arrested by the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) following information from members of the public.
Olukolu said two of the suspects, Usman Mohammed, 39, and Hussein Mohammed of Akko LGA were arrested with fake 65 pieces of N1000 notes, which they were circulating in markets across the state.
He said other suspect, Sani Umar, 23, and Babangida Hamisu, 28, of Pantami quarters of the metropolis, were arrested with a plasma TV, computer set and other electronic devices.
Bello Umar, 25, Danladi Mohammed, 38, Usman Shehu Usman, 40, and Abubakar Bala, 59, were suspected to specialized in theft and selling of stolen motorcycles.
Olukolu added that the suspects were helping the police with information and would be arraigned before court as soon as investigation was concluded.
