cePolice men attached to the Delta State Police Command on Tuesday in Okpanam community, near Asaba, engaged in some armed robbers in a gun duel, killing three while six others were apprehended.
The hoodlums met their waterloo after the Police ambushed the suspected robbers after they got some intelligence report about their operation.
It was learnt that the youths on noticing that visitors in the community were been disposed of their valuables at gun point informed the Police who immediately swung into action, leading to a heavy fire exchange between the hoodlums and the police.
DSP Celestina Kalu, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, while confirming the incident noted that the suspected hoodlums were rounded up at the scene of the operation. He further stated that some of them tried to evade arrest, but the Police opened fire on them.
