Police IG, Arase withdraws orderlies from politicians over shortage of officers

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has withdrawn police orderlies attached to some politicians due to lack of officers across the country.

Arase who gave the directive in Minna, Niger State during a tour of the state Police Command stated that only top politicians would be allowed to have orderlies, adding that the withdrawn officers would be posted to sensitive areas where their services are needed.

Disclosing that there are lesspoliticians policemen in Niger State, the IGP lamented that shortage of officers was affecting the efficiency of the police force in providing security.

The police boss also warned officers in the state on the need to be civil in the course of dischapoliticians duties and to avoid trampling on the rights of the people.

The IGP condemned a situation where the force in the last five years had not conducted any politicians exercise.

He, however, stated that President Muhammadupoliticians administration was aware of the situation andpoliticians towards resolving it.
