Police operatives in Kano have uncovered and detonated a high calibre Improvised Explosive Device at Dawnau, a popular food market in Kano barely 24 hours after a Textile market in the ancient city was bombed by two female suicide bombers.
Reports have it that the bomb was concealed in a sack hidden at a location in the ever busy market.
Confirming the development, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Adelenre Shinaba, said “we have successfully detonated the bomb and I can assure you that we have restored normalcy to the market.”
DAILY POST recalls that six persons, including two suicide bombers were on Wednesday killed in a bomb attack at the textile market in Kano. The two women had engaged sellers in an argument so as to attract a crowd before detonating the explosives strapped to their bodies.
