The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Undie Adie, has stated that the command will continue to enforce strict measures against criminal gangs perpetrating their activities in the state.
The Police commissioner, while giving this warning, emphasised that irrespective of tribe or religion, he will not hesitate to deal with anyone caught in criminal acts.
Adie, who addressed journalists at the state headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Akure, the Ondo State capital, allayed fears in some quarters that armed herdsmen have taken over the state.
“The Command (Ondo State) wishes to reassure members of the public of its resolve to rid the State of all forms of heinous crimes.
“In doing this, the command does not and will never deal with acts of criminality on the basis of tribe, religion or gender.
“Let me make it clear that whether you are Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, Fulani, Esan, Efik, Birom or white, we shall deal with you appropriately according to the Law once you are a criminal.
“You are therefore advised to feel free and go about your lawful business in any part of the state you may wish.
“It is not true that Fulani Kidnappers and rapists have taken over Ondo State,” he stated.
