Following the death of Bestman Tobore in Ughelli, Delta State, a 37-year-old motorcycle ticket sales person who was allegedly stabbed to death by a robbery suspect, the family members have accused the police of extortion, under the pretext of investigating the case.

It will be recalled that the deceased, popularly called Agbari, reportedly died on Friday, May 8, from stabs and head injuries he sustained, resulting from an alleged attack by a robbery suspect, identified as Ejaiyeta, alias Ghana Boy.

Ghana Boy was said to have escaped from police custody at Ovwian Police Station in Udu LGA, Delta State.

A female relative, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the police asked them to make a payment of N500, 000 for mobilization, after they informed the police of his killers and series of petitions to that effect.

At the time of this report however, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, was yet to respond to arising questions on the matter.
