Police confirm murder of man, wife, three children in Benue

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the murder of one Mr. Nichola Adetsav, a staff of Makurdi Local Government Area, his wife and three kids.

The lifeless bodies of the entire family members were discovered in their Vandeikya residence on Friday night.

Residents of the area had claimed that the wife allegedly murdered the husband, three kids and committed suicide after a squabble with her spouse.

Confirming the development to DAILY POST on Saturday, the Benue State Police Command PRO, ASP Moses Yamu, said the bodies have been deposited at St. Theresa’s Mortuary, Makurdi for autopsy.

“Yes, we are aware. At the moment, we are investigating because one cannot tell exactly what happened at the moment. Although, people around are alleging that it was the woman that murdered the husband, the three children and possibly killed herself.

“According to them, before the incident, they saw her smashing husband’s vehicle before they later moved into the room.

“The police came and forced the door open and saw the five corpses inside.

“The corpses have been deposited at the St. Theresa’s Mortuary, Makurdi for autopsy.

“Meanwhile, the commissioner has ordered full investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the murder of the family,” Yamu told our reporter.
