The Police in Ogbomoso, Oyo State has arrested some suspect with 500 Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, just two weeks to the March 28 presidential election.

They were arrested in the Sekoni area of Ogbomosho.

According to an eyewitness, the police reportedly fired shots into the air to stop the clash that greeted the incident, as irate youths were about to lynch the suspects but for the timely intervention of the police.

According to the eye witness, the cards were sighted in the car after some residents, who acted on a tip-off, forced the car to stop, adding that the suspects were known supporters of one of the opposition parties in the state.

Efforts to confirm the incident from the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, were not successful as he did not pick his phone after repeated calls.
