Police arrest man for defiling minor in Ogun

A 37-year-old man, Dabeshi Umoru was on Saturday arrested by police officers attached to the Sagamu Division for allegedly defiling a minor at Dadajira Street, Sabo, Sagamu area of Ogun State.

The father of the victim who reported the incident to the police alleged that Umoru forced himself on the minor.

Umoru, on his part, did not deny the claim.

It was learnt that the case is to be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta fort further investigation after which, Umoru will be charged to court.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulmajid Ali, condemned the act stressing that anybody caught carrying out such act will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Ali called on parents and guardians not to leave their wards with undesirable and criminally-minded elements.
