Leader of the robbery gang that raided some banks in Agbara Industrial Estate, Ogun State has been arrested by operatives of the Special Intelligence Response Team, SIRT.

DAILY POST recalls that the robbers numbering 20 had on Thursday dressed in military camouflage and raided about three banks. In the process, they killed a nursing mother and a police officer before escaping through the waterways to the creeks.

It was learnt that the suspected gang leader, identified as Kelly Rotor was arrested by the team on Saturday after three members of his gang engaged the police team in a gun duel at Sapale, Delta State. The shootout was said to have led to the death of a police officer.

Kelly and others were said to have also participated in the Festac, Ikorodu and Lekki bank robberies in the past.

The Respond Team was said to have been commissioned by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase to track down and arrest the suspects who have held Lagos under siege in recent times.

Luck however ran out on Kelly as he was arrested by the team at Sapele while attending a wedding after he was said to have received his own share of the loot.
