The Ebrumede Police Division has arrested three suspected armed robbers for allegedly snatching an Acura jeep and other belongings from one Chief Emmanuel Erute at gunpoint.
The robbery incident occurred along the PTI Road in Effurun,Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
The suspects include: Tega Omokekere, Godspower Wilson and Awara Samson.
Their arrests were effected by the DCO II, ASP Lucky Imasuen based on a report by the victim at the police station.
The police first arrested one of the suspects, Tega Omokekere who gave useful information that led to subsequent arrest of the two others, Godspower Wilson and Awara Samson at the Mechanics Village in Effurun.
The Ebrumede Police Divisional Officer, CSP Ibrahim Shaibu declined comments on the matter.
Narrating his experiences, Chief Emmanuel Erute stated that he was returning to his house at No.21 Uti Street when a V-Booth Mercedes Benz blocked him.
He said four men with gun came out and ordered him to submit his car key and all his belongings.
Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka stated that, “the three suspects have been transferred to State Headquarters in Asaba for further investigation.”
DSP Aniamaka vowed that the police will continue to make the State uncomfortable for criminals, especially in this festive period.
