Police apprehend two suspects for robbing bank customer in Akure

Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested two suspected robbers who specialize in trailing bank customers to their cars and robbing them of their money.

They were apprehended last Thursdays by Police Patrol Team attached to “A” Division in Akure, the State Capital shortly after robbing a First Bank customer, Mr. Henry Aguguom of N50,000.

The bandits, simply identified as Ndubusi Chinakaa and Davidson Nnorom from Akwa Ibom State, were found of putting an object under the car of their victims.

According to the State police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wole Ogodo, the duo use unregistered motorcycle for their operations

Ogodo said they were arrested after police trailed Aguguom to where he parked his car after completing his transaction at the bank.

He noted that the suspects called the attention of the victim to a faulty place under his car, adding that at a point when Aguguom was checking his car, they have already stolen his N50,000 but pretending as if they were assisting him.

“Sensing the danger, Aguguom raised an alarm which attracted our officers around and they immediately arrested the suspects” he said.

The PPRO revealed how the suspects earlier robbed another victim to the tune of N105,000 at the same spot in Alagbaka.

He said “Items recovered from them were N50,000, master key, sharp objects and motorcycle. The case is under investigation.”

Ogodo however, admonished member of the public to be watchful when leaving their banks by checking their cars to note if a motorcyclist or other vehicles are following them from the bank.
