Pogba targets Premier League top spot with Manchester United

Paul Pogba has said that Manchester United’s objective is to claim top spot in the Premier League and not a top-four finish.

The world’s most expensive player scored for the Red Devils as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Wednesday – their second successive win.

It leaves Jose Mourinho’s men in sixth place, six points behind neighbours Manchester City, who currently sit in fourth place and occupy the last Champions League spot.

“We don’t want to be in the top four, we want to be at the top,” Pogba told SFR Sport.

“But to get there, we have to take that step first. We’re going to keep working and not give up on anything.

“We have to continue on our good run as we did in the Europa League and with Tottenham last week. We have to keep going. Chelsea are putting games together. To be at the top, you have to put together games, put together wins. We’re in a good spell, we have to keep it going”, he added.

United are currently 13 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
