Paul Pogba will not be available for Manchester United this weekend, when Jose Mourinho’s men open the new campaign away to Bournemouth.
The Football Association has confirmed the France midfielder is suspended, because of the two bookings he received in last season’s Coppa Italia.
It was very unlikely that Pogba, whose transfer smashed the world record fee, would have started the game, as he only returned to training this week.
However, according to Mourinho, he will be fit for their second match against Southampton.
“By Tuesday, he [Pogba] will be ready to play against Southampton,” he told a news conference.
“I found out two days ago [that Pogba faced a ban].”
