Pogba’s agent says midfielder might join Barcelona

Paul Pogba could end up joining Barcelona, if Joan Laporta wins the club’s upcoming presidential election, according to his agent Mino Raiola.

Laporta, who was president between 2003 and 2010, is one of the favourites to win Saturday’s poll alongside Josep Maria Bartomeu.

The Champions League winners have seen a €80million bid rejected for the French midfielder already, but Raiola insists that Barca’s initial attempts to seal a deal through Juve’s directors, Ariedo Braida and Alberto Soler, was “silly” and a mere “political” ploy.

“Pogba has a big chance of going to Barcelona [if Laporta wins],” he told EFE.

“Alberto Soler doesn’t know Pogba. The trip to Turin seemed political, they were there to take a photograph. It was a very strange journey. Silly.

“Paul and I were not even in Turin.”
