Pogba delighted to score first Manchester United goal

Paul Pogba has revealed his happiness, after he scored his first goal for Manchester United, in their 4-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

The Frenchman, who cost United a world-record £89million this summer, rose highest to thump in a fourth, as Jose Mourinho’s men crushed the Premier League champions at Old Trafford.

Pogba, who was named Man of the Match, joked that he hopes it is not his last goal for the Red Devils.

Asked for his reaction to the goal by Sky Sports, he replied: “I’m very happy for the result and this goal and I hope it’s not going to be the last one! So just carry on, keep doing that, what we did today and after we can go and we have our goals.

“We were very focused. We knew that was going to be difficult. The first four games we were good, the two games then [against City and Watford] after we knew were going to be difficult, and now today we showed on the pitch a big performance from the team. I feel happy and I want to carry on like this.”

Pogba also insisted he did not pay attention to recent criticism from the press during his goal drought.

“I don’t look at the newspapers,” he added.

“But I always say one thing, it’s at the end. So at the end you will see.”
