An unnamed plumber, who was reportedly working on a blocked drainpipe in Magazyn Street, Polokwane, South Africa, allegedly discovered a foetus wrapped in newspaper pages.
Polokwane police spokesperson, Capt Phala Ntobeng, reportedly said they were investigating a case of concealment of birth, Capricon Review reports.
The plumber, who pleaded not to be mentioned in print, said: “I was called to a house in Magazyn Street, Polokwane, SA, to inspect a blocked drainpipe.
“I opened the drain and found out there was something caught in the entrance of the pipe and I proceeded to pull it.
“When I closely inspected it, I realised it was a human foetus,” the plumber lamented.
The police spokesperson, however, reportedly urged anyone with information to contact the Polokwane police station.
