The Commander of the Military Taskforce code named Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) saddled with the responsibility of maintaining peace in Plateau State, Major General Augustine Agundu, has charged personnel of the special taskforce to redouble their efforts.

Agundu gave the charge on Tuesday in Jos at a Sallah celebration he put together for the personnel of the OPSH.

“You must redouble your efforts to defend the defenceless, defend those that don’t have the strength to defend themselves.

“We must continue to build on the capacities that we have developed and we must remember that our mandate is to protect.

“We must work hard to correct those that don’t want us to have peace in Plateau,” he said.

The Commander further charged the personnel to do all that was possible to ensure that Plateau regained its name as the home of peace.

He appreciated the personnel for their sacrifices towards ensuring that the people stayed in peace.

Agundu stated that the celebration was to appreciate the personnel for doing well in their assignment.

Col. Lander Saraso, OPSH Operations Officer said that the day was one of those rare days that security personnel sheath their swords.

Saraso said that the day was meant for the personnel of the OPSH to interact informally amongst themselves.

He thanked the commander for putting together the event for personnel to dine and unwind.
