Plateau killings: Why APC must dump Buhari, choose another candidate for 2019 – Kure

The Secretary General of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, has enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to employ wisdom in tackling the security situation in the country. He also advised the President’s party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to choose another candidate that will run in the presidential race in 2019.

In view of the recent attacks on some villages in Plateau state that left over 200 people dead, many injured and others declared missing, the cleric stressed that urgent steps must be taken to restore sanity in the system to avoid complete breakdown of law and order in the country.

Speaking during a special prayer programme for Nigeria, the man of God also urged the Kaduna State government to take preemptive measures to ensure that the attacks do not spread to Southern Kaduna.

In his message to the President, Kure who is the Champlain of Throneroom Ministry, Kafanchan, said the Plateau State attacks should be a wake-up call to president Buhari in view of the dozens of lives that got lost in a single day.

He added that Nigerians were desperate for pragmatic security measures that would stem the killings across the country and the President has to provide that security.

He appealed to the youths in Plateau state to hold their anger and refrain from venting it out as it would only result in more bloodshed. He also appealed to all the stakeholders in Plateau State to unite for the sake of their survival.

While asking the President to resign if the task of presiding over the affairs of the country proves too difficult for him, Kure called on the All Progressive Congress (APC) to choose another presidential candidate in 2019 and if they refuse, “then God’s will will be done.”

On his advice to the Kaduna state government, Kure said the pattern in previous attacks was that once communities in Plateau state get attacked, then villages in Southern Kaduna start getting attacks too.

He then called on the security agencies to stay at alert and do all that is possible to ensure nothing happens in Southern Kaduna.
