Sequel to the recent attacks that led to killing of scores of people in some villages of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area and the skirmishes along Anguldi in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, a new Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma has been posted to the State.
Until his appointment, Ciroma was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) FCT Abuja. He assumed duty today.
According to a press statement issued by the Plateau Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mathias Terna Tyopev, Ciroma was one time Head of Operations, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and has worked in all six geopolitical zones of the country and in all departments in the Nigerian Police Force.
The statement noted that the Yobe state born CP, “graduated from University of Maiduguri in 1988 and joined the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent police on the 3rd of March 1990.
He had served in different places and in various capacities in the Nigerian Police Force.
Then new CP replaces Andie Undie who was posted to Plateau in September 2017.
