Plateau 2019: ANN dissociates self from IPAC’s endorsement of Gov. Lalong

Contrary to claims by the Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Latep Dabang, that the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has endorsed Governor Simon Lalong in the 2019 gubernatorial election, the Chairman of Alliance for New Nigeria(ANN) party in the State, Hon. Senlat Garba has refuted the claim, saying his party has not endorsed Governor Lalong.

Garba disclosed this to journalists in Jos, the State Capital.

It would be recalled that last week Friday, the ruling APC celebrated the endorsement of Governor Simon Lalong by IPAC, led by the Chairman of KOWA party at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, during the flag off of campaign of the incumbent Governor, where “51 IPAC members” were said to have endorsed the governor.

Garba said ANN has not entered any negotiation with any political party let alone endorsement, threatening that his party will take legal action on anybody who stood on behalf of their party for the endorsement at the event.

He said, “Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) is not party to the so-called endorsement of Barr. Simon Lalong of the APC as overheard at the Governor’s flag off campaign recently. ANN has it’s gubernatorial candidate and we are ready and out for it at the poll.

“It is a blatant lie that we endorsed Governor Simon Lalong, members of the IPAC just held a meeting on Monday in that regard and we say no to such arrangement by the IPAC, Chairman Hon. Latep Dabang and his Vice the KOWA party Chairman Hon. Ochai Salihu who I am telling you that they are on their own.”

The ANN party Chairman also alleged that those who represented IPAC at the APC flag off were given money.

“We heard that they were given N100,000 each to collapse their structure for the APC candidate. And I tell you we ANN are not party to this, whoever stand there in the name of ANN, we are going to take legal action against that person”, he stressed.
