President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has promosed to get Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham, to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria.
The 19-year-old striker is regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in English football and has drawn comparisons with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Abraham was born to Nigerian parents, but has featured for England’s U-18, U-19 and U-21 teams.
He has scored 11 goals in his first 14 Championship matches for Bristol City, where he is on loan from Chelsea.
Pinnick says he in touch with his parents, to ensure he pulls on the green and white of Nigeria.
“Tammy Abraham’s dad is my childhood friend, we grew up in the same neighbourhood in Warri,” Pinnick revealed in chat which Completesportsnigeria.com had access to.
“We speak quite often. Just finished another convo with him now. When we are ready, I am sure the NFF will not have any problem in securing his release. Tammy is like a son to me.”
