Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, will sponsor his quest to win a seat on the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) .

It is understood that Pinnick is prepared to spend as much as $1million.

“The cash is to finance his CAF election as well as that of his new ally and Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi to the FIFA Council,” a top official informed AfricanFootball.

“He could even spend half his budget to support Nyantakyi.” Pinnick plans for Nyantakyi to step down, so he can focus on retaining his FIFA Council position, which he won in September.

Both the CAF and FIFA elections are billed for March next year.

In September 2014, Pinnick reportedly spent more than $400,000, to emerge as NFF president.

This made one of the candidates, Dominic Iorfa, allege that Pinnick bought his way to power.
