Pinnick
Former executive chairman of Delta State Sports Commission and current President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has thrown his support behind his successor, Chief Tony Okowa.
Pinnick stated that Okowa was the right man for the job and urged the people of the state to support him.
He said: “We have worked together for years and I can vouch for him. He has contributed immensely to Delta sports and I know he will do very well and even surpass the achievements of my predecessor, Chief Solomon Ogba and myself.
“I expect him to go places because he understands the terrain and has worked with us on many fronts. He is even better than I in temperament because I know I can be difficult to work with but Tony is cool, calm but calculated.”
Pinnick also called on other board members, who he described as very competent and experienced, to continue to back Okowa as they supported him during his tenure.
