President of the Nigeria Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has expressed his happiness after the country’s men and women teams, qualified for the football events of the All-Africa Games.

Pinnick was reacting after the Dream Team defeated Zambia 2-1 in Lusaka, thanks to a brace by Taiwo Awoniyi.

“I am very, very excited with the result of the U-23 boys in Zambia. They have done the nation proud, just as the Super Falcons did on Friday,” he said.

“I can tell you that the Nigeria Football Federation and the entire Nigeria football fraternity is happy with the two teams’ accomplishments.”

Last week, the Super Falcons beat Mali 8-0 in Abuja to win 9-1 on aggregate.

These results mean Nigeria will return to the football events of the All-Africa Games, after missing the last edition in Maputo, Mozambique.
