President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has said that Stephen Keshi will be offered a new deal and the federation will take the right decision on his future.
Keshi’s initial three-year contract expired after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and it will be one of the issues to be discussed when the NFF executive committee meets in Lagos on Thursday.
“The chairman technical committee is on with coach Stephen Keshi. And he is going to recommend to the board the decision of his committee. Like I keep saying, contracts are not signed over night,” Pinnick stated.
“We make an offer, Keshi says he doesn’t like it, it goes back to us, we insert the right clauses, it goes to the legal department. We just want to ensure that we do a thorough job.
“In Nigeria, we have a very peculiar environment and that is why it’s taking this long. We don’t want to make mistakes but to take a right decision that is beneficial to all.”
