President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has recommended the suspension of the Alabi Abiodun, who was the centre referee when MFM FC hosted Shooting Stars.
3SC ended MFM’s unbeaten home run with a 1-0 win at the Agege Stadium, in a Match Day 23 fixture played on Sunday.
Supporters of the home team were angry with some of Abiodun’s decisions and invaded the pitch after Ebitimi scored for Shooting Stars in the 83rd minute.
It took the intervention of Pinnick and security personnel to restore peace.
“In my opinion the referee killed the spirit of the game and I know what I’ll recommend to the committee,” Pinnick said.
“As the president of the NFF, my opinion must be taken very seriously because our aim is to develop the game and I’m going to recommend suspension for the referee. The fans are never justified for any form of hooliganism.”
