After receiving certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Thursday, winner of the Edo gubernatorial election, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, took to the streets to celebrate.
The INEC National Commissioner in-charge of South-South zone, Dr. Mustafa Muhammed, presented the certificates to the governor-elect and his deputy, who dedicated his victory to God Almighty, saying one of the reasons he contested the poll was to expand and attract resources into state.
The governor and his deputy were seen standing on a podium mounted in a helux van, with supporters trooping behind and chanting songs of victory.
