It’s historical today in the ancient city of Benin Kingdom, as the 40th Oba, Eheneden Erediauwa emerges.
The coronation of the Oba of Benin Kingdom and the 70th ruler in the Ogiso empire is currently happening in Edo state after the successful completion of a very rigorous process that is in line with the customs and tradition of the highly revered throne of his (Erediauwa) forefathers.
Prince Erediauwa was crowned by the Edion, led by Chief Oliha at about 2am.
The Edaiken N’Uselu is being aaccompanied by the bearers of the ancient sword carried by the Oba, Chief Omohor of Benin Kingdom; the Ikpakohen group (royal drummers) from Ikpema, the Ekassa dance group, the Isenwenro and others, and the historic event is being graced by dignitaries including the Vice President, VP, Yemi Osinbajo, Outgoing Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, members of the diplomatic corps, royal fathers, among others.
