oritsejaforThe Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Cross River State chapter, Bishop Emmah Isong, has warned that Christians in the country will not fold their arms and allow the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor to be rubbished.

Isong spoke in Calabar yesterday against the backdrop of the controversy trailing the of $9.3million impounded by South Africa.

The private jet that took the money to that country allegedly belongs to the CAN leader.

The PFN state Chairman in a chat with journalists at the headquarters of his church, the Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI), warned that “people should not use the name of an elevated Christian leader, number one Christian leader to play politics. Christians will react if they continue to do this because we will not want a spiritual leader to be castigated.”

“It is infuriating; it is rather a security risk to carry this kind of news. We are warning anybody who is perpetuating this lie to desist from it because we will show very serious concern that some people will not like.”

He said the whole saga was about next year’s general election, accusing the opposition of deliberately fabricating lies designed to tarnish the image of Oritsejafor for political reasons.

“The $9.3million dollars found in pastors Oritsejafor’s jet is a political lie from the opponents of Mr. President who are presuming that Papa Ayo may become the arrow head to mobilise support for our wonderful President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“It is clear that the private jet is Papa Ayo’s own which we all know, but it is a lie that the money was related to arms deal,” Isong said. Isong stated that having leased out his private jet, the CAN president cannot be held liable for the purpose it is used.

Continuing: “For instance that jet was leased out to a company for at least one and a half month. The people that rented the jet can take it to anywhere, carry money even water that does not link to the person of Papa Ayo Oritsejafor.

“It is on record that the maintenance of that jet is very expensive, so they hired it out. This has been investigated by relevant sources and Papa Ayo has been vindicated.

“It is a political lie by the opposition to link him with the 2015 general election,” he stressed.
